Hey everyone, my name is April. I am a fashion/creative photographer, a Gen Alpha mom to 2 girls, a Marine mom to a 20-year-old boy, and a cat mom to a torti/snowshoe/siamese 1-year-old girl, a Siberian 5-year-old boy, an orange tabby who is also 5 and male, and my little street kitty who is also 1 and a girl. She was running the streets before I convinced her to be a housecat. I've been married for about 16 years—I kind of lost count. I live in the Catskill Mountains in NY, but NC is for sure my second home since my son resides there for base.

So I grew up in Albany, NY with my brother and partner in crime. My brother Rob and I are 3 years apart and are still super close. We moved to the Catskills while I was in middle school with my 2 other siblings as well, Sara and James (I am the oldest). I hated it; I hated going from the city to the rich country area. I graduated in 2002 and moved back to Albany. I was just 20 when I became pregnant with my son, and at that time I moved down to NYC to be with his father. His father had another family on the side; I was the mistress, so I left and came back with my son. And today, I am best friends with his now ex-wife. Oh, how the cookie crumbles. I got married when my son was 7, in 2011. I have been married since.

Well, I feel like I have a lot to say about the things I personally am going through; this could be an outlet, I think. First off, I am a Marine mom. I will talk more about that in a separate post just to get everyone up to date. That alone is a very hard job to take part in, a job you did not ask for.

I also have 3 chronic illnesses: Long Covid, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), and Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS). Long Covid is the only illness that everyone actually believes exists. So I will make separate posts about my journey with all three to catch you all up.
